💡The Big Idea

A lot of great businesses are hiding in plain sight.

They do a lot of strong work, take care of their customers well, and deliver real value. But not enough people know they exist. And even when people have heard of them, they might not fully understand what they do, who they help, or why they should be remembered.

That is the real challenge with awareness. It is not just getting your name in front of more people. It is making your business easy to understand, easy to remember, and easy to recommend when the right opportunity comes along.

🏟️This Week’s Play

The first move is to simplify how you describe your business. You need one clear sentence that really tells people who you help, what problem you solve, and what result you create. Skip the polished mission statement and the clever marketing language. Aim for something a customer could naturally repeat in conversation. “They help local businesses turn website visitors into booked appointments” is far more useful than “We provide innovative growth solutions.” If people cannot quickly explain what you do, they will struggle to remember you or refer you.

Next, choose one idea you want your business to be better known for and repeat it consistently. That idea might be faster service, better quality work, a more personal experience, fewer headaches, stronger results, or a specific problem, you solve better than anyone else. Build your content around that central message. Share customer stories that prove it, teach lessons that connect to it, answer common questions, show what happens behind the scenes, and explain why your approach works. The content can change, but the main idea should stay the same. Repetition is not boring when the message is valuable. It is how the market learns what to associate with your name.

Then make it easier for customers and professional contacts to refer you. Most people do not need more encouragement to recommend a business they trust. They need better language. Instead of saying, “keep us in mind,” tell them exactly who you are looking to help and what problem they should listen for. You might say, “we are a great fit for business owner who are getting attention but struggling to turn it into customers. When you hear someone mention that, let them know I’m here to help.” That gives people a clear trigger and turns vague goodwill into useful referrals.

Finally, create a simple weekly rhythm. Share one piece of content that teaches something, one that proves you can deliver, and one that invites people to take the next step. Then reach out directly to a few former or current customers, old leads, partners, or community contacts that you’ve built and ask them for testimonials and remind them that you’re still here. You don’t need to show up everywhere. You need to show up consistently with a message that people understand. The goal is not to become famous in your town. The goal is to become the obvious name that comes to mind when someone needs what you do.

🎱AI-Powered Play

You can use AI to turn one clear business message into weeks of useful awareness content without watering down your voice or repeating the same post over and over.

Give AI your core message, ideal customer, and the result you provide. Then ask it to create multiple angles around the same central idea. The trick is not asking it to make content.

The trick is to make your business easier to understand, remember, and recommend.
