‼️One Big Thing You Can Do With AI
Most newsletter intros are the same. They get boring before they even get the chance to get going.
“Hope you’re having a great week….”
“Today I want to talk about…”
“In this newsletter let’s explore…”
Don’t get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with any of those. They’re just painfully easy to ignore. Your reader has an inbox full of people asking for their attention. So instead of asking AI to “write me an introduction,” use it to find a better way into the idea.
How it works:
What to try: Give AI your newsletter topic or existing introduction and ask it to create five dramatically different opening hooks before you write the rest.
Why it matters (for you): The opening determines whether your reader keeps going. A stronger hook creates curiosity and gives the rest of your newsletter a fighting chance.
Outlaw POV: Don’t let AI choose the first decent sentence it comes up with. Make it compete against itself. Generate five angles, steal the strongest idea, then make that one better. AI gets much more useful when you stop treating Draft #1 like it came down from the mountain on stone tablets.
💸Your 60-Second AI Win
Got a newsletter sitting in your drafts with an opening that feels… meh?
Perfect.
Don’t rewrite the whole thing. Just attack the first 100 words.
The Goal: Turn a predictable newsletter introduction into an opening that creates curiosity, sounds human, and makes the reader want the next sentence.
The Tool: Your favorite AI writer OR the Social Media Content Forge in The Outlaw AI Toolkit.
The Prompt:
You are my newsletter hook editor.
I’m going to give you the topic of my newsletter and my current introduction.
Your job is NOT to rewrite the entire newsletter. Your job is to find a much stronger way into the idea.
First, identify why my current opening may be easy to ignore. Be specific.
Then create 5 completely different opening approaches:
Start with a short, relatable story or scenario.
Start with an unexpected observation.
Start with a bold opinion or point of view.
Start with a curiosity-provoking question.
Start with a surprising comparison or analogy.
Keep each opening conversational, specific, and natural. Avoid clickbait, fake drama, generic motivational language, and obvious AI phrases.
Each version should make the reader curious enough to read the next sentence without giving away the entire point immediately.
After writing all five, tell me what makes each approach effective so I can choose the one that best fits my voice.
